Sheriff Jay Jones recently nominated Deputy Mike Conway as Deputy of the Year to represent the Lee County Sheriff's Office. Deputy Conway joined the Lee County Sheriff's Office in October of 2005 and graduated from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Sheriff's Academy in April of 2006. During his time at the academy he was elected vice president of his class, won the Physical Fitness award, the Staff Excellence award and was runner up Val Victorian. Deputy Conway graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Criminology. In 2007 Deputy Conway ranked number 3 among all deputy sheriffs in the state of Alabama on DUI arrests. Sheriff Jones stated in his letter of nomination "The word "Professional" denotes the best level of performance in law enforcement and Deputy Conway's actions and attitude are examples of this level every day. He sets an outstanding example for his fellow deputy sheriffs and is an asset to the Lee County Sheriff's Office".
We congratulate Deputy Michael Conway on his achievement.
