School Breakins Solved

Over the past three months the Lee County Sheriff's Office has been investigating a rash of school break ins that had been occurring at Beauregard High School and Sanford Middle School.  Electronic equipment and cash were the main items taken.  On March 2, 2006 at approximately 3:00pm/cst, the Lee County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at the residence of Arthur Douglas Smith, the search revealed several items of property taken from the school during the break-ins.  The search also revealed a quantity of crack cocaine, scales, baggies and several smoking devices.  He is currently being held on a $10,000.00 bond.  Also arrested at the scene was Latresha H. Watts, she was taken into custody after it was discovered that she had an outstanding warrant on her.  The investigation is continuing and additional charges are possible.
