Lee County Deputies Chosen
|

Sheriff Jay Jones is pleased to announce that two Lee County Deputies have been chosen to participate in a statewide media campaign during the upcoming Click It or Ticket period. Deputies Bill McGuire and Denise Ingram were chosen to represent law-enforcement agencies across the state. The Click It or Ticket campaign is a national campaign designed to promote the use of seatbelts in vehicles. Funding is provided by the National Highway Traffice Safety Adminiistration and is administered locally through the Alabama Department of Economic Community Affairs (ADECA). The media campaign will consist of two separate areas, the first being a 30 second commercial which will air statewide beginning on April 30, 2006 and will run until may 13, 2006. The second area will be in the form of billboards that will be placed in eight central Alabama counties along high traffic areas. Deputy Denise Ingram will be featured in the commercial and Deputy Bill McGuire will appear on the billboards.
In addition to the media campaigns there will be a statewide press conference held in Montgomery on May 14, 2006 and several educational checkpoints held on May 11th and 12th. The actual enforcement period runs from May 22, 2006 through June 4, 2006.
