Large Drug Arrest
On Wednesay, November 8, 2006, the Lee County Sheriff's Office received information from the Phenix City Police Department about an individual who lives in Lee County that was possibly involved in trafficking illegal drugs.  The Lee County Sheriff's Office developed information supporting the information that had been provided by the Phenix City Police Department authorities.  At approximately 5:50 pm/cst, the Lee County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at the residence of 3626 Lee Rd 240 in Salem, Alabama.  The search revealed approximately 60 pounds of marijuana including eleven separately bagged one pound bags of marijuana that were located in a shed behind the home and two separate bales of marijuana weighing individually over twenty five pounds each located in the attic of the residence.  Michael Eric Beauchamp, age 44, has been arrested and charged with one count of Unlawful Trafficking of Marijuana and is currently being held in the Lee County Detention Facility on a $100,000.00 bond.  The marijuana seized has an estimated street value of approximately $50,000.00
