The Lee County Sheriff's Office, the Opelika Police Department and the Auburn Police Department are proud to announce that the Lee County area has been selected as the host site for the 10th annual ATOA (Alabama Tactical Officers Association) Tactical Operations Conference.  This event will bring in tactical officers from all over the state.  The Event dates are set for the week of October 4 - 7, 2010.  As many as 200 officers are expected to attend throughout the week. 

 We have invited Marcus Luttrell, author of the best selling book Lone Survivor to be our guest speaker for the banquet on the last night of the competition.  Our last night banquet will be held at the Opelika Performing Arts Center.  We will have a cookout for all attendees that will begin around 5 pm plus an added bonus of some entertainment during this "relaxing period"  The banquet is set to begin at 7:00 pm and last until 9:00. All awards will be presented during the banquet which we intend to open up to the public so that all the SWAT Teams can be recognized and honored for their achievements.  We do expect a capacity crowd for this event and it should be an exciting time for all.
